Ribgrass Plantain, also known as Ribwort Plantain or Narrowleaf Plantain, is a versatile and hardy herbaceous plant that features low-growing rosettes of long, lance-shaped leaves with prominent parallel veins that give a ribbed appearance. Its flower spikes rise above the foliage and produce multiple small, tubular, greenish-white or pale brownish coloured flowers densely packed together.

 

Ribgrass Plantain is renowned for its medicinal properties, often used in traditional herbal medicine. Rich in bioactive compounds like aucubin and allantoin, it is known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing properties, making it useful to soothe skin irritations, alleviate insect bites, and promote the healing of minor wounds.
