  • Light Conditions:

    • Full Sun:

      Narrow-leaved tea tree should preferably be grown in a location that receives 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day.
    • Tea tree is shade tolerant.

     


    Soil:

    • Well-drained soil that is poor, average or rich in nutrients. Tea tree grows well in a variety of soils.
    • Narrow-leaved tea tree prefers rich lime-free soil without much nitrogen that can retain some moisture.
    • The plant has been reported to grow from sea-level up to 300 metres at dense, impenetrable thickets, along streams and swampy places.
    • Mulch (such as grass clippings and wood chips) can be added to the surface of the soil to retain moisture and keep down weeds.


    Watering Frequency:

    • Water the soil primarily when the soil is almost dry.
    • Watering tea tree should be that the soil is kept moist.
    • Do not allow the soil to dry out.


    Pruning:

    • Prune (deadhead) branches or leaves when they appear to wilt or turn yellow.
    • Pruning can aid in stimulating new growth and make the plant bushier.
