Service Description
1) Aquatic Ecology & Recreational Fishing (Approx. 1.5 hrs) 🌿 Dive into a hands-on exploration of freshwater ecosystems and tilapia care, built around a safe, eco-friendly Fishing experience. Our earthen, spring fed pond (approximately 170 × 40 × 6 feet, non concreted base) hosts a rich aquatic community, including: • Tilapia – adds brilliant colours—red, orange, grey, blue, purple—to the mix. • Teta – bottom dwellers that help clean algae and organic matter • Catfish – mud-dwelling species that contribute to ecological balance • Coscarob – peaceful fish contributing to pond diversity • Wolf Fish / Guabine – nocturnal predators that help prevent overpopulation • Mottled Swamp Eel / Zangee – edge-dwelling scavengers that thrive in low-oxygen pockets • Red-Eared Slider Turtle – helps maintain the pond’s health by scavenging and feeding on small aquatic organisms and plant material You’ll learn: • How native species interplay to maintain a balanced aquatic ecosystem (cleaners, predators, scavengers) • Basic sustainable fish keeping practices and the importance of biodiversity • The different tilapia varieties—their colours, habitats and role in the pond We supply rods and bait, and use barbless hooks to minimise harm and protect the fish upon release. ________________________________________ 2) Optional Pond to Plate Experience with Café Mariposa 🍽️ Enjoy farm fresh flavours with our Café Mariposa partnership: • We supply larger tilapia catches to the café’s menu • BOOK IN ADVANCE, catch your own fish, and have it prepared fresh at the restaurant—an authentic pond-to-plate culinary adventure ________________________________________ 3) Optional Garden Centre Visit 🌱 Enhance your visit with an optional tour of our Garden Centre, offering a variety of herbs, medicinal plants and ornamental plants available for purchase. ________________________________________ 💲 Tour Rates • Adults (13+): TT$50.00 • Children (5–12): TT$40.00 (1 adult per 10 children) • Children (1–4): TT$30.00 (1 adult per 5 toddlers) • Minimum Entrance Fee: A minimum entrance fee of TT$200.00 applies if the total admission is less than this amount. • Group Rates for Schools: TT$30.00 per child or teacher • Catch Purchase: TT$20.00/lb (if large enough; sold as-is, uncleaned) ________________________________________ 📌 Booking & Payment • Booking Information: Book 12+ hours in advance; for urgent bookings call/WhatsApp 1 (868) 784-2356 • Payment: Cash only, upon arrival
