  • Light Conditions:

    • Full Sun:

Place arrowroot in a location that receives 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day.
    • Partial Shade:

In our climate, arrowroot may grow well with 3 to 6 hours of sunlight per day, primarily morning sun.

    Soil:

    • Well-drained soil that is fertile in nutrients. Friable or loose soil is preferred to allow the rhizome to easily penetrate the soil and grow better. The plant has been reported to grow from sea-level up to 1,000 metres in moist to wet lowlands, and bright areas of moist deciduous or evergreen forest floors.

    Watering Frequency:

    • Water the soil primarily when the soil is dry or almost dry.
    • Watering should be such that the soil is kept moist but not constantly soaked.

    Pruning:

    • Prune (deadhead) stems or leaves when they appear to wilt, look diseased or turn yellow or brown.
